Maryfield Farm, Banchory, AB31 6HY
About
Maryfield Flowers is a dream come true for former hobby horticulturists Rebeccah and Jonathan Stripling. Set beneath the dramatic backdrop of a former rocky hollow in Royal Deeside, the flower farm is a testament to the couple's love of all things green.
For the last 20 years they have cultivated a garden that is bursting with shrubs and perennials, gathered from famed nurseries and historic estates from around the country. Years of experimenting and recent frustration at the demise of the British cut flower industry took them on a new path.
They turned a three-acre plot at the north end of the property into a lush bed of seasonal blooms. The seed for Maryfield Flowers was sown.
The plot is planted with a range of perennials and shrubs and there are beds for annuals, bulbs and dahlias. Several tunnels are used to extend the season and protect more sensitive shrubs from the harsh Scottish winters.
